Bridgestone's third-generation Potenza Adrenelin – the RE003 – has set the bar even higher for the street sport tyre market, delivering improved precision and maximum control to sport drivers. 

Since the release of the first Potenza Adrenalin tyre, RE001 in 2007 and its successor the RE002 in 2011, Bridgestone’s flagship range of performance tyres has become known for sharp, responsive handling. 

The RE003 looks set to build on the strong reputation of its predecessors, boasting improvements across the board, particularly in dry conditions.

General Manager Technical Field Service for Bridgestone Australia Ltd, Claudio Sodano said the Potenza Adrenalin RE003 delivered “significant improvements” over its predecessor.

“Compared to the second-generation Adrenalin, which was already a leader in its class, the RE003 provides drivers with an even more outstanding driving experience,” Mr Sodano said.

“It delivers in terms of noise, improved ride comfort and rolling resistance while offering a high level of balance between wet and dry performance.

Cutting-edge technology

The new Potenza Adrenalin RE003 features Bridgestone’s leading technology including:

• Triple and half groove: The combination of three main grooves and a sporty half groove optimises overall rigidity and quickens initial response the instant the steering wheel is turned.

• Wide centre rib: Provides a rigid centre rib for precise handling and cornering performance.

• Curved groove wall reinforcement: Using a curved groove wall results in strengthened lateral rigidity to offer precise cornering performance.

• Connection block: Shortened lug groove increases the rigidity of the shoulder block taking handling stability to a new level for powerful traction in dry conditions.

• Pulse groove: The main groove uses wave like design technology that has been proven in the development of motorsport tyres for wet conditions. This innovation has been adopted for better drainage and anti-hydroplaning performance.

• Deflectors: Raised protrusions formed on the floor of the pulse groove improve drainage and help prevent hydroplaning.

• Silica based compound: The silica compound rubber improves wet-handling performance while maintaining exceptional dry-handling

Contact pressure comparison

The RE003 offers more consistency in road contact pressure than the RE002 which improves traction. This improved traction ensures the tyre’s exceptional cornering performance, enhanced wet braking capabilities and reduced irregular wear.

Outstanding option for all

As an added bonus, the RE003 comes in 43 sizes to suit so many vehicles that almost every motorist will be able to have a version of Bridgestone’s race-winning Potenza pedigree on their car.

These vehicles include the Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon, Subaru WRX, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Toyota 86.
