Leukaemia Foundation
Bridgestone stores across the country sell specially designed blue valve caps for $3 per set, with all proceeds directly funding blood cancer research for the Leukaemia Foundation. Read more about Bridgestone’s partnership with the Leukaemia Foundation
Bridgestone Select and Bridgestone Service Centres fund the Leukaemia Foundation’s patient transport vehicle program which has been on the road since 1986. This program, helps thousands of families across Australia travel to and from vital blood cancer treatment free of charge. In 2017 alone, the Bridgestone patient transport vehicles travelled over 1,557,779 kilometres, or the equivalent of more than 100 laps of Australia. That’s a lot of time, a lot of chats, a lot of tears and a lot of laughter.
For people living with blood cancer, the Bridgestone vehicles are more than just cars. Whether it’s a friendly natter with a driver, a set of listening ears or even a bit of a joke along the way, the transport program makes treatment just that little bit easier.
At certain times throughout the year, Bridgestone stores across the country also sell specially designed blue valve caps with all proceeds directly funding blood cancer research. Bridgestone stores have raised more than $200,000 through their blue valve caps to date which contributes to PhD research programs selected by the charity, to support the next generation of scientists and clinicians in the early phase of their careers.

Solar panels to reduce electricity consumption and CO2 emissions Rainwater harvesting for toilets and garden irrigation system

Appropriate bunding around any automotive work areas to reduce any chance of spillage
Environmentally Partnerships
All Bridgestone stores are Tyre Stewardship Australia members, which means they adhere to the TSA objectives which are to:

Increase resource recovery and recycling and minimise the environmental, health and safety impacts of end-of-life tyres generated in Australia, and

Develop Australia’s tyre recycling industry and markets for tyre derived products

Our franchisee network also use a member of The Australian Tyre Recyclers Association (ATRA) for the collection of end-of-life tyres. ATRA exists to represent the interests of the legitimate and sustainable used tyre collection and recycling sector in Australia.
