Ten schools across Australia are being given the chance to each win a $10,000 project grant thanks to Bridgestone Australia.
In line with the company’s Tomorrow Matters initiative, the grant can be put towards any infrastructure or school project that has the environment, technology or youth development as its focus.
“At Bridgestone, we believe it’s our responsibility to do what we can to create a bright and sustainable future for generations to come. We believe that tomorrow matters today,” said Andrew Moffatt, Managing Director of Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand.
“For this reason, we launched our Tomorrow Matters initiative with three key objectives – finding new and better ways of using technology; encouraging our children to find solutions for tomorrow; and helping to ensure a healthy environment for current and future generations.”
“As part of this, we’re very excited to announce our $10,000 school community grant program. We’ll be awarding ten of these grants to schools across Australia and can’t wait to see what the students achieve.”
The ten eligible school districts were chosen thanks to the efforts of their local Bridgestone retail store ‑ which won the right for the grant to be awarded to a school in their area as part of a performance-based competition.
The stores which won the competition include:
Bridgestone Service Centre Moree, NSW
Bridgestone Service Centre Bathurst, NSW
Bridgestone Select Newcastle, NSW
Bridgestone Service Centre Burnie, TAS
Bridgestone Service Centre Ballarat, VIC
Bridgestone Tyre Centre Maribyrnong, VIC
Bridgestone Select Burleigh Heads, QLD
Bridgestone Select Geebung, QLD
Bridgestone Select Nuriootpa, SA
Bridgestone Select Canning Vale, WA
Schools which fall in a number of suburbs in and around these stores will be eligible to enter the competition and will be contacted by Bridgestone Australia with an invitation to apply.
“This initiative will be a great way for ten schools to access funds that can help them bring a meaningful project to life,” Mr Moffatt said.
“We are encouraging eligible schools to get involved and have some fun with their entries ‑ we’re looking for creative and inspiring submissions which demonstrate the value of their proposed project in an inspiring and engaging way.”
