We've done it again, five years in a row for Bridgestone.
The market leading tyre company recognised around the world for its products and services.
Bridgestone Australia Ltd. has once again gone to great lengths to support the Leukaemia Foundation, with a number of brave team members choosing to shave, cut or colour their hair in March for the World’s Greatest Shave.
A staggering total of more than $45,000 was raised by the Company, building on last year’s outstanding $38,000 effort.
In celebration of the 30 year partnership between Bridgestone and the Leukaemia Foundation, head office employees turned back the clock and dressed up in 80s themed costumes, while Bridgestone’s state offices held an array of special lunchtime events.
Bridgestone retail outlets also hosted shave events and contributed one dollar per tyre sold from March 9 to 11 to the World’s Greatest Shave appeal, with Bridgestone matching their donations dollar for dollar.
Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Andrew Moffatt said the result would not have been possible without the help of Bridgestone’s dedicated employees, retail stores and customers.
“Every year our people pull out all the stops to support the World’s Greatest Shave and this year was no exception,” Mr Moffatt said.
“I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated, dressed up or volunteered to assist with organising the events held across the country.”
“The funds raised will go a long way in helping the Leukaemia Foundation provide dedicated care to patients and their families residing at the Bridgestone Australia Leukaemia Foundation Village while undergoing treatment.”
“It will also assist researchers in their quest to one day find a cure for patients with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders – a common hope that unites all of us at Bridgestone.”

Bridgestone Customer Support Analyst Hilary Davis and Corporate Accountant and Accounts Payable Manager Jamil Daibes’ two daughters donated their hair to be made into wigs for patients with cancer.
“For people that lose their hair as a result of cancer treatment, a wig is an amazing gift. Thanks to these three generous ladies, those who step out wearing their hair will hopefully feel a little more confident,” Mr Moffatt said.
“Special thanks and congratulations go to all those who made the selfless decision to join the B‑Brave team and commit to shaving or cutting their hair.”
Bridgestone Australia supports the Leukaemia Foundation in a number of ways, providing Patient Transport Vehicles, supporting the organisation’s various fundraising initiatives and more. For further details, click here.
